  NT Come Follow Me Lesson 6 Introduction: “The Spirit of the Lord Is upon Me” Luke 4:1–21 The Savior resisted temptation by turning to the scriptures. You can do that too. He has a divine mission to save us all. The following section that I am copying from the lesson is interesting. As soon as Jesus was baptized and started His ministry, Satan came to tempt Him in an effort to destroy Him from His purpose. But He knew what His purpose was. He had just heard His Father speak to Him, “Thou art my Beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.” We also need to look for our Father’s approval and validation that we are His children. “ From His youth, Jesus seemed to be aware that He had a unique, sacred mission. NT Come Follow Me Lesson 5 Introduction: “Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord” Jesus Christ and His gospel can change me, if I allow it. “If something as permanent as a mountain can be flattened, then surely the Lord can help us straighten our own crooked paths.” Luke 3:5 ; Isaiah 40:4 Luke 3:4–5 How can I make His paths straight? What do I need to do to straighten up my own act? Luke 3:6 I want to be spiritually prepared to see the salvation of God. This will come during my lifetime; I am sure of it. Personal Study: Who was Mark? Mark was a missionary companion to Paul (to Peter, and to others). Mark’s gospel was most likely written before the others. Mark may have been directed by Peter to record events from the Savior’s life. Mark also known as John. “ Tradition states that after Peter’s death, Mark visited Egypt, founded the Church of Alexandria, and died by martyrdom.” Personal Study: Repentance is a mighty change of mind and heart.
