NT Come Follow Me 36

NT Come Follow Me Lesson 36 Introduction: “Ye Are the Body of Christ” 1 Kings 19:11–12 We will most often recognize the Spirit of the Lord in a Still Small Voice. How can we find unity in Christ? 1 Corinthians 12:13 When you join the Church of Jesus Christ, you are “baptized into one body,” and every body part is needed. We all need each other, and the Church suffers when one member is hurting. Remember that. We are all part of the body of Christ. Personal Study: God provides a way to escape temptation. 1 Corinthians 10:13 None of us have temptations (or inclinations for that matter) that are not COMMON TO MAN! Our shortcomings don’t make us special in any way. But God will provide a way for our escape as we desire to follow Him and turn to Him. This I know, because it has happened to me and for me. Exodus 13:21 ;  14:13–31 God can perform mighty miracles to save us! Just as He did for the ancient Israelites. Alma 13:27–30 Always pray that God...

NT Come Follow Me Lesson 35 Introduction: “Be Perfectly Joined Together” Acts 18:8 Crispus, his household and many others believed the gospel Paul taught and were baptized. 1 Corinthians 1:10–11, 20 Just like today, the early saints dealt with issues of pride and division. Are you working towards unity with God, with your family, with the saints, and with all others? Personal Study: The members of Christ’s Church strive to be united. We don’t need to know all about the lack of unity among the saints in Corinth, we just need to look at our own lives. Is t...

Those who have entered into the baptismal covenant are truly saints, and are beloved of God. Even though we need to be chastened and redirected many times, we have the assurance of God’s love for us, in the gift of His Son and through the power of the Holy Ghost. Romans 7:24 Like Nephi and Paul, we might sometimes feel our own wretchedness. But God sees more. We are His beloved sons and daughters. Joseph Smith Translation, Romans 7:22–27   Romans 12:21 With the Savior’s help, we can overcome evil with good. Personal Study: Those who follow the Spirit can become “joint-heirs with Christ.” Romans 6:4 Through baptism we can be raised to a newness of life. Romans 7:23 How do we embrace the newness of life and put off the natural man? Romans 7:23 How can we hold on to hop...
