NT Come Follow Me 40

NT Come Follow Me Lesson 40 Introduction: “Walk in the Spirit”   Galatians 4:9 The gospel offers us freedom. But some turn back to their old ways and are then again in bondage to habits and sin. Galatians 1:6   Make sure that you are accepting the gospel of Jesus Christ and not following after another one, that entraps and enslaves.   Galatians 5:1 “   Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.”   Galatians 5:13 Accept the call to freedom! Love and serve one another.     Personal Study: The law of Christ makes me free. Galatians 1:6-9 “ I now again, If any  man  preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.” Don’t look to those who teach outside of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and never be found teaching another that is not the doctrine of Chri...

NT Come Follow Me Lesson 39 Introduction: “God Loveth a Cheerful Giver”   Would you be willing to help another group that was in poverty have the material blessings that they need. Paul hoped that the Corinthians saints would rise to the occasion and donate some of their abundance to more needful saints.   “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver” ( 2 Corinthians 9:7 ).   Give out of love. You have the opportunity to fast more willingly and give more freely.   Personal Study: I can cheerfully share what I have to bless the poor and needy. Are We Not All Beggars? “Rich  or  poor, we are to ‘do what we can’ when others are in need [see  Mark 14:6, 8 ]. … [God] will help you and guide you in compassionate acts of discipleship if you are conscientiously wanting and praying and looking for ways to keep a commandment He has given ...

It’s not easy for them to do that. We should be willing to accept counsel and correction when it is inspired by Christlike love. Lord, I Believe “Be kind regarding human frailty—your own as well as that of those who serve with you in a Church led by volunteer, mortal men and women. Except in the case of His only perfect Begotten Son, imperfect people are all God has ever had to work with” (Elder Holland).   Personal Study: My trials can be a blessing. How have your own trials been blessing to you and to your family? 2 Corinthians 1:3–7 Our trials help us to see the Lord, who then comforts us. Through the testimony of love and added faith that we gain, we are then in a position to comfort others who have trials. Our very afflictions and consolation work togeth...
