Personal Study: Jesus Christ came not to condemn sinners but to heal them.

How did Jesus view sinners, compared to how Simon the Pharisee saw them, or compared to how you see them?

Luke 7:36–50 Woman who anointed Jesus feet with oil and bathed them with her tears. What gratitude have you shown for your forgiveness and redemption? For His mercy?

John 3:17 Jesus was sent to save us, not to condemn us.

Luke 9:51–56 Jesus doesn’t want to destroy our lives, but to bless them and save us.

The Gift of Grace

Personal Study: Being a disciple of Jesus Christ means that I put Him first in my life.

What sacrifices can you make to more fully put your Heavenly Father and His Son first in your life?

Luke 9:57–62 Once we covenant with Jesus to follow Him, that should be our first priority.

Personal Study: Jesus Christ has power to bring peace in the midst of life’s storms.

How has the Lord save you from perishing? Do you have examples from your life?

Mark 4:35–41 Four questions:

Master, carest thou not that we perish?
Why are ye so fearful?
How is it that ye have no faith?
What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

How has the Savior brought you peace during the storms of your life?

Family Study: Peace, Be Still

Jesus can calm the trouble seas and quiet the storms in our lives.

Mark 4 verse 39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

Jesus heals a leper, cures the centurion’s servant and others, stills the tempest, and casts out devils—The devils enter a herd of swine.

Vs 2-3 If we have faith that Jesus can heal us and it is God's will, and we ask in faith, we will be healed.

Vs 5-13 Jesus's love and mercy are over all the children of the earth. Even though the centurion wasn't of the House of Israel, he had faith. He didn't need to see the miracle to believe that Jesus would perform it.

We need to know that His power to heal is for everyone who seeks it with faith in Him.

Vs 14-15
Jesus healed Peter's mother-in-law. Peter was married.

Vs 16-17 Jesus cast out devils. Not only does He forgive us of our sins, but He takes upon Himself our sicknesses and infirmities

Vs 19-22 Are we willling to give up all to follow Jesus? Are we willing to trust in Eternity in the midst of the temporary?

Vs 24-27 The winds and the waves obey His will.

Vs 28-32 Evil spirits know who Jesus is and they are still subject to obey Him. We have agency to choose, but one day every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is the Christ.

Jesus forgives sins, heals a paralytic, eats with tax gatherers and sinners, and announces that He is Lord of the Sabbath.

Vs 5-12 Jesus greatest healing is in the forgiveness of sins. If we have faith for a physical healing, we also have faith to be healed spiritually. I love Jesus. He has done this for me. I heard the voice of the Lord speak in my mind ,"You sins are forgiven," when I was praying and searching in my grief over Robby.

Vs 14-17 Jesus called Levi or Matthew. The Jews didn't care for the tax collectors and such. They judged Jesus for eating at his house with publicans and sinners. Jesus came to teach, bless and heal, not to condemn.

Vs 27-28 The sabbath was instituted for our welfare and benefit. Jesus as Lord of the Sabbath has given us a perfect example of how to keep it. Too many rules imposed as check off lists was never what it was meant to be.

Jesus heals on the Sabbath day—He chooses and ordains the Twelve Apostles—He asks, Can Satan cast out Satan?—Jesus speaks of blasphemy against the Holy Ghost and identifies those who believe as being members of His family.

Vs 2-6 Doing good on the Sabbath is what we should do. Jesus healed the sick, comforted the downtrodden, and did the things of God and godliness. Because he didn't adhere to the letter of the Jewish law, the leaders wanted to get rid of him.

Vs 9-11 Everyone wanted to be near Jesus and receive virtue and healing from Him.

Vs 13-19 The Twelve were ordained by Jesus.

Vs 22-27 All things that are good come from God.

Vs 28-30 Did these people know through the Spirit that Jesus was the Christ or a prophet? Then certainly knew He was a good man, doing good things. He was warning them here not to blaspheme against the Holy Ghost.

Vs 32-35 We should love everyone we can and help them to find Christ, so that we can all be of one family again.

Jesus gives the parables of the sower, the candle under a bushel, the seed growing secretly, and the mustard seed—He stills the tempest.

Vs 14-20 Jesus explained the parable of the sower. It is important for us to take care of our soil, to offer up broken hearts and contrite spirits, to take care of our faith and nourish and strengthen our testimony in Jesus Christ by always remembering Him and doing the works He would have us do.

Vs 21-22 We should do works of light and be honest and upright. Even if we think the things that we do in darkness won't be seen, some day they will be manifested.

Vs 23-25 Make sure that you receive the things of the Spirit by the Spirit. Do not judge wrongfully.

Vs 37-41 Be faithful when you ask of God. He can turn your fears into faith when you trust in Him. You know He has blessed you in times past. He will again. Trust in Him.

Jesus heals the centurion’s servant—Jesus raises from death the son of the widow of Nain—He praises John the Baptist as more than a prophet—A woman anoints Jesus’ feet, and He forgives her sins.

Vs 6-10 Do you have faith in the healing power of the Savior, without having to see Him here with you? Do you have faith that if you ask, He will hear and assist you?

Vs 12-16 Can you imagine being that mother? She was grieving her dead son, and Jesus brought him back to life. See what you have to look forward to! He is going to do the same thing for you.

Vs 19-23 John's disciples came on his behalf to ask Jesus if He was the Christ. They witnesses His works and healing power. By their works shall ye know them. He left it for them to decide. If we are not offended in Jesus Christ, but have faith in Him, we will also have eyes to see and ears to hear, hearts to understand, and faith to know.

Vs 26-28 Jesus testified that John was the prophet that came to prepare the way of the Lord. Jesus who made Himself servant of all is the greatest of all.

Vs 29-30 The humble and repentant are those who seek and benefit from baptism.

Vs 36-48 If you love your Father in Heaven more, if you love your Savior more, if you love your friends and neighbors more; your sins will be forgiven. Learn to truly love.

Vs 49-50 Jesus is the One to save us, but what else is necessary? Our faith. We are required to have faith in Him in order to be saved.
